To be Vulnerable is to be Misunderstood

Courtney J. Burg, Writer + Mentor

We are all creatives, because we were made in the image of the finest Creator. Maybe you don’t paint or write, but your life is still a reflection of creating.

Every time you share your story, your heart, your ideas, your thoughts. Every time you share your pain, your limits, your projects, your body, your smile. Every time you share your beliefs, your worries, your faith. You ARE a creator. And creating is vulnerable work. Being vulnerable feels like being naked. It’s exposing. And part of that exposure is a high probability of being criticized, judged + misunderstood.

Don’t ever believe that what is wrong or broken or not enough is your creations. What is actually misaligned is that your vulnerability reminds others of what they fear… being vulnerable themselves. This isn’t your burden to carry.
You only must:
Continue.
Eyes up.
Heart open.
Keep creating.
