We thrive off of living in black + white.
If I’m wrong, they must be right.
If we disagree, they are a threat or bully.
If a person reacts a certain way, it must be my fault.
We like to have concrete stories to cling to. If we can’t find one, we will create one. This narrative we create can twist + distort our lives nonstop. Before long we are in one big messy story where our ego has us believing we are the victim + everyone is to blame.
It takes time + practice + work to step away and observe your thoughts. Once you see your own ego at play, you can see that it’s only trying to keep you safe, even if it means pushing everything and anything away. It is The Great Storyteller.
Freedom is found in becoming conscious of the Ego’s power. It’s not your enemy, it’s just trying to help. Observing it will allow you a chance at reclaiming your own power of choice, so you’re no longer at its beckoning call.
Healing + awareness allows us freedom from blaming others and constant finger pointing. We don’t have to live hurt, angry, or confused. We can be misunderstood without taking it personally. We can accept where others are at and help them feel heard when we disagree. Discerning “The Great Storyteller’s” work from our True Self is how we unlock conscious response + break cycles. 🤍
