Hey there, whether you are new here or you have been a long time subscriber, I first want to express my heartfelt gratitude that you are reading these words right now. This will be my 10th year of blogging, which is honestly just so wild to even type out! Writing has always been my thing, and having you on the receiving end never gets old. I write in hopes that my words somehow inspire and encourage you to make lasting changes, where ever you are at in your journey.
Which brings me to this week’s message! I wanted to share with you a few things:
Have you ever asked yourself how am I really meant to serve this person or situation? What is God asking of me in this relationship? Am I functioning from a place of fear or a place of confidence and trust? How can I learn a spiritual discipline of boundary work so that I can love others without losing myself? If so, then I have just the video for you!
Recently, I was on the Bought & Beloved podcast with Kirby Kelly. We chatted all about codependency as a Christian, and what loyalty really means. I hope this (video!) conversation lifts your spirits and reminds you that it is not only okay to set and maintain healthy limits, but it is essential if you want to maintain healthy relationships.
I also wanted to share with you a new book I am enjoying. It is John Mark Comer’s latest titled Practicing the Way. Comer introduces readers to a spiritual formation that is rooted in theological substance and yet brings cultural insight and practical wisdom to the pages. If you are looking for something new to check out, I really recommend it.
Lastly, I have a new evening mocktail! I generally drink tart cherry juice before bed while I read (I look forward to the ritual) but have started adding a little of this non alcoholic aperitif that is gluten free and spiked with adaptogens and natural botanicals. On deck I have a bottle of Golden Hour to try, which is lightly carbonated citrus zest flavor. Use this code for 10% off your first order!
Next week I am headed to Fort Worth for the IF: Gathering for their 10 year anniversary celebration. The event is sold out but is still available to live stream if that is something you would like to check out! Speakers include Annie Downs, Christine Caine, Sadie Robertson Huff, Rebekah Lyons… just to name a few! I can’t wait to soak up all the speaker’s wisdom (and let’s be real, enjoy a hotel room alone!) so stay tuned for a recap on that trip.
On the fence about purchasing LTAF? I totally get it! Which is why I want you to listen to chapter 1 now to see if it’s over due for a home on your nightstand!
Take a listen now!
Devotional Reading Plan
Core values are the foundation of life—shaping your thoughts, emotions, and actions. If you don’t know your values, you risk acquiring others’ beliefs and behaviors. Identify your core values, and take steps towards fostering healthy habits that reflect your new identity in Christ. Begin to positively impact others, and write a purposeful legacy in this five-day reading plan adapted from my book, Loyal to a Fault.
