We want to believe we are helping. We want to convince ourselves that without us, they wouldn’t be able to do this life thing. We love the idea that we are needed, important. We cling to this role of fixer, saver, do-er.
truth is:
It’s all a lie.
And this lie has kept us captive and stuck for far too long. It is our greatest distraction from doing our own work. To turn inward would mean vulnerability, curiosity, uncertainty. That scares us.
Maybe today, you pry your fingers off of someone else’s life. Maybe today, you begin to work on your own.
