Not every opportunity is yours

It’s easy to jump on an opportunity when you’re wanting to expand, when you’re hungry to grow, when you’re looking for the next step in your career or your relationships.

This year the word that kept pressing for my heart was FOCUS. This means doing less, with intention + strategy. I turn down a lot of networking partnerships. I am putting out less content. It takes a lot of discipline to work towards the long term purpose.

Maybe for you, you are trying to expand your business. Opportunities may come your way that look like the answer to your problems + the quick fix. But maybe it’s just one more distraction keeping you from your true calling?

Maybe for you, it’s a guy. He’s cute, smart, and single. But is this opportunity, really FOR YOU? Or are you just lonely, in a rush to settle down and start a family?

Maybe for you, it’s a passion project or career turn. But that project or job has turned into grabbing at everything + anything, instead of slowing down and getting really clear on your intentions. Is the striving for success deterring you from falling in love with the process + practice at your craft? How can you be more specific about your goals and what you offer?

Opportunities can look shiny, exciting, like the way to where you want to go, and quick. Set some limitations up on yourself.
Pause + ask:

Is this opportunity REALLY for me? Or Is my ego in a rush? How can I quiet the noise + get more focused? In what way can I trust my process, my journey, my next chapter, without forcing it?
