Say “thank you” with this simple BEACH inspired gift

Courtney J. Burg
May 16, 2024

The end of the school season is here, and whether you homeschool, hybrid, or send your kids full-time, this simple beach inspired bag is the perfect appreciation gift to give!

I don’t know about you, but I am always stumped on how to show our family’s gratitude towards the teachers, coaches, and extracurricular instructors (like piano, swim, or art!) that teach, love on, and influence my children throughout the year. And while this small gift isn’t really much, I have found a little thoughtfulness and a handwritten thank you can go a long way! Plus, it ushers in the summer season here in South Florida with some practical items!

I get it, some of you reading this may not live near the beach. If that is the case, you can use this as inspiration to create a mountain, lake, city scape, or desert-themed gift bag instead. Or, simply give the BEACH one for those who plan to travel to or near the beach this summer, as they will surely love it regardless! The reason I love this gift so much is because it is not typically something you would buy for yourself. It is very useful and appropriate for all ages.

After searching online, I decided to go with this monogrammed BEACH bag and I am so glad I did! It is the perfect price and such high quality! It can be used for snacks, sunscreen, make up, or even as a mini travel bag for diaper changing essentials.

Inside, I stuck with the beach theme and put in a stick of Sun Bum lip balm that has an SPF in it. I got this pack of three and separated them giving each recipient one stick. I really love the different flavors they offer, and especially love that they are paraben free!

Next, I added in this mini wet brush. If you haven’t tried this brand out, this is our absolute favorite. As a mom to three girls, I will never go back to the traditional brush again. I am not sure how the wet brush works through wet (and salty!) hair so easily, but it does magic at detangling! This mini brush is the perfect size to store in the beach bag and comes in a blush pink, lavender, and gray color. We went with the green to match the thank you cards.

Speaking of thank you cards… I really am a huge fan of handwritten cards whenever possible (maybe it’s the writer in me?) I believe snail mail thank you’s are worth fighting for in an age where everything is digital or e- designed. Yes, it takes more time, but it really goes a long way in the hearts of those we are hoping to thank, encourage and bless, especially since my girls would be signing their names and drawing little pictures inside. These cards were perfect in both design and quality; printed with gold foil, and included envelopes and matching stickers to seal shut. I highly recommend them, and am glad to have a few leftover to use at a later time.

Finally, we put in a gift card to a local restaurant. If you know that a teacher or coach loves a specific coffee shop, to shop at a store, or to do something like go to the movies, consider adding a gift card too if your budget allows.

I hope this was helpful for you! Towards the end of the year, my mind starts to slow down along with our schedule. I am already looking forward to quiet mornings in pajamas, and some small travel plans with family.

If you haven’t put any “thank you’s” together yet, know it isn’t too late to order these items and do so. These BEACH inspired bags don’t quite match up to the amount of work, energy and efforts by those who help shape our children’s minds, hearts, and character– but it’s a start. Teachers and coaches are the true gifts, and should really be celebrated and thanked all year round.
