In a society where we are rewarded + encouraged to continue towards completion above all else, changing our minds can feel like failure.
A friend of mine recently threw herself into a new venture, recruiting friends, spending money + time, setting up a website even to prepare for its success. She then, decided to NOT do it. She went another direction entirely, actually. It wasn’t an easy decision. But it was an honest one. I didn’t see this as her giving up. I saw this is as her being BRAVE. She did what she needed to do to stay true to herself.
Sometimes it’s not until we are in the thick of something, do we realize we actually don’t belong there.
It’s easy to worry what others will think. We are accustomed to performing + people pleasing, and this reflects itself in finishing what we have started, even if our heart is urging us to step away, pivot or lay it all down entirely.
Power then, is found in a woman willing + able to change her mind. Without abandon. Without apology. Without excuse.
