New Narrative

Courtney J. Burg, Writer + Mentor

We don’t want to believe we are preprogrammed, but we are. We don’t like the idea that we live primarily on subconscious wave lengths, but we do. We hate the idea that our ego controls a majority of our actions, but it does.

Every “new” pain you feel is simply an old pain rising up. You’re just assigning a new meaning to it, a new narrative.

Until we get to the root of our original pain; the unhealed wounds that whisper we are unworthy, not enough, less than, not able, broken, unsafe, unheard… then we will never fully experience the present. The lens of the past will continue to overshadow the beauty of the now.

It takes awareness to notice when the old pain is rising up. Asking questions like:
What is this reminding me of?
Where is this bringing me?
Who is it I am hearing, really?
What are my thoughts saying?
How is my ego at work right now?
can help the excavation… 🤍

You always have a choice to return home. You always have an opportunity to see the past for what it is, and live freely in today.
