Learned. Unlearning. Relearning.

It’s a beautiful thing to know that whatever we have learned, we can unlearn. We aren’t broken, addicted, lost or without hope. There is redemption. Unveiling. Freedom. A new way. It’s never, ever too late to begin again.

We are conditioned in childhood + young adulthood to believe beliefs that may not be ours, feel feelings that may not be ours, think thoughts that may not be ours. We begin wearing armor that isn’t ours + begin displaying patterns of behavior that is inherited, often without choice. We are motivated to belong, feel accepted + safe, regardless of who it hurts or if we slowly distance ourselves, from our true self.

As we heal, we begin to see that we can unlearn it all. We no longer have to live as victims, angry, hurt or resentful. We no longer have to live detached or confused. We can pause, observe, and begin the practice of responding differently. This is the power of choice. Here we start to peel back the layers + are reintroduced to our true selves; the people we ARE, not the people the world + generations before us assigned us to be. It’s terrifying, beautiful + worthy work.

Where are you at in your journey?
