Just wanted to say thank you

Courtney J. Burg, Writer + Mentor
December 15, 2022

This time of year can bring up a lot for many of you, myself included. Perhaps another year has gone by and you feel as though you didn’t get done what you had planned. Maybe you are mourning the loss of a job, a relationship, a dream. Some of what you expected, well just didn’t happen. As we approach the end of another year, it is easy to reflect back on all that didn’t go right. I get it.

But I want to encourage you– you have come so far. This time last year, you weren’t the same woman. You have grown. You have changed. You have succeeded. A lot of what has occurred is internal, some may not even notice. But I hope you do. You are doing a good job, even when its hard— and especially when no one else acknowledges the work you have done.

I recently turned in my book manuscript, and am busy with some first round edits. I am beyond humbled by the opportunity to share this message with you, God willing, this time next year. But for now, I just want to thank you. Many of you have been here since the beginning of my blog. I have read every response, comment and word of encouragement back. I love your updates, so please keep sending them. You have gotten me through some of my own dark personal times, and hopefully my work has done the same for you.

Give yourself a hug, some grace, and celebrate all that you have done right. Remember, you are human, so quit expecting perfection. Be sure to rest a bit, too. The holidays can be more than just hustle and bustle from one thing to the next. It’s up to you to decide how you end this year, and begin the next.

Until 2023.
XO
