Black Sheep

I know what it’s like to be left out by your family. I know how it feels to have a pull so deep inside drawing you back, a voice so loud that screams “you can’t do this, you must be loyal. They are blood!” I know how uncomfortable it is to pave a path of your own, without support, encouragement or an ally. I know the doubts, fears + insecurities that creep in as you place one foot in front of the other, walking away from the life + people you have always known. I know the pain that is felt when your closest people call you names + spread lies + rumors about you for being “too good” or “better than.” I know the ache of the hole left inside when you grieve at night, dreaming of the way it could of, should of been.

Sweet friend, if you’re the black sheep that is what I’ve described here, know you’re not alone. This doesn’t make you bad, broken, selfish or not loyal. This makes you human. It means you have hope. That vision you have for yourself? The one that is stable, respectful, peaceful + free? It is possible. Keep going. Keep dreaming. Keep believing. Make it happen. It can end + start new with you.

Here’s to the black sheep breaking cycles. I see you. #blacksheeplifeforever
